My name is Angel Rosales. I am from Austin Texas and went to Huston-Tillotson University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Principal Certification from Texas State University. I have been teaching in Austin ISD for 14 years. I am married and have a dachshund dog named Murray. I am an avid sports fan and love rooting for the Texas Longhorns.

I am a first year teacher and I am so happy that I am working with the staff, students, and parents at Walnut Creek Elementary! I moved to Austin, Texas nearly a year and a half ago from Albuquerque, New Mexico where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. My goal is to attend The University of Texas to receive a Master's Degree in Special Education as this is my true passion! I truly enjoy reading, doing yoga, and hiking!
Nick Jackson - Reading Specialist
¡Saludos! I am Nick Jackson, and I am so happy that I have been a bilingual reading teacher at Walnut Creek for the past 16 years. I have been a teacher for 23 years after I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. I have also attended Austin Community College, Angelo State University, The University of Houston, and Texas State University. I completed my master’s degree in bilingual education in 2005 from UT. My wife Janice and I have one daughter, Astrid, who attended all her years of elementary school at Walnut Creek and is now a Young Woman Leader at the Ann Richards School. I love to learn about and talk about new things so please engage me in conversation about my new passion: apicultura (beekeeping)!
Pat Lyons - Bilingual Literacy Specialist
Hi! My Name is Pat Lyons. I am currently a Bilingual Literacy Specialist at Walnut Creek Elementary. I thoroughly enjoy working alongside a dedicated and caring community. I obtained by teaching degree and Masters from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. After graduation, I began my teaching career at Midland ISD. I worked there for 17 years as a Bilingual Educator, then as the Even Start Family Center Director and lastly as an Early Childhood Director. I am excited to be part of the Walnut Creek Eagles and look forward to another great year!
Dinorah De La Torre - Bilingual Literacy Specialist
Hello, everyone! My name is Dinorah De La Torre and am the Walnut Creek Bilingual Literacy Specialist. I graduated with my bachelors in Education from The University of Texas at Austin. I taught for six years in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Currently, I am in graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin in the Principalship Master’s Program.
